The autumn Canton Fair is not one continuous event. Phase 1 closes on October 19 and Phase 2 opens on October 23, with the halls shut from October 20 to 22 while the site is rebuilt. Buyers who do not plan around that gap either fly home early or arrive when there is nothing to see. This is how to use it instead.
On October 20 the halls are still full of stands — and closed to visitors. Exhibitors dismantle, the floor is stripped, and the Phase 2 layout goes up. The same thing happens again from October 28 to 30 before Phase 3. Arriving during a changeover with a meeting booked is the single most common scheduling mistake first-time visitors make.
Both changeover windows are published in advance, so the practical question is not whether the halls close but what to do with three unbooked days in Guangzhou. For most buyers, the answer is the part of sourcing that cannot be done on a fair floor.
Three days is enough for a plant visit, a sample trial, or a full quotation review — the three conversations a crowded booth rarely allows. Buyers who visit Phase 1 for agricultural film and Phase 2 for packaging often use the gap to close the technical loop on both.
The gap is the best time to see a factory. Production is running normally during the fair, and the technical staff who are tied up at the booth during Phase 1 are back on site. If you are considering a supplier for a seasonal programme, ask for the visit while you are already in the country — see how our plant runs.
Yinfeng Plastic exhibits in both phases, and the two stands sit in different halls covering different products — which is why some of our buyers split their trip rather than choosing one. Phase 1 is the agricultural side: PO and PE greenhouse film in 100–200 mic with 90% light transmission, plus mulch film and tunnel film. Phase 2 is the packaging side: mattress bags, sofa and chair covers, car and tyre bags, film supplied on roll, and warning tape.
If you buy both, working them in one trip costs you the changeover days and nothing else — and it means one supplier, one quality standard and one lead-time commitment for two product programmes.
Our booth team is deliberately small: the people who answer a thickness or lead-time question are the people who run the lines, and during the fair they are usually with a customer. Sending your specification ahead means the technical answers are ready when you arrive — and it makes a factory visit between phases possible to arrange.
Send us your sourcing brief (width, thickness, application, annual volume and destination port) and the days you are in Guangzhou, and we will confirm slots at Booth 1.1I36 and Booth 16.4D32.

Two documents make the trip materially more productive: a specification sheet for what you already buy, and the question list you will ask every supplier. We publish both — see the film supplier checklist for the ten questions that separate a factory from a trading desk, and the factory-direct catalogue for dimensions, thickness options and packing.
