Additives that actually matter

The base resin is half the story. These packages are what separate a film that lasts from one that chalks in a season.

UV stabilizers

Set real service life in direct sun. Weak UV package = early embrittlement.

Anti-drip

Condensation runs down the wall instead of dropping onto crops and burning them.

Anti-fog

Keeps clarity in high humidity so light actually reaches the plants.

Light diffusion

Spreads light evenly, cuts leaf scorch and reaches lower canopy.

IR thermal

Retains heat at night — valuable in temperate and cold seasons.

Anti-dust

Reduces static buildup so the cover stays clean and transmits more light.

Match the film to your climate

Same crop, different continent — different spec. Get the climate fit right before you order.

Tropical

High UV, heavy humidity. Anti-drip is non-negotiable; go thicker to survive storms.

Recommended: 180–200 µm · strong UV · anti-drip

Temperate

Four seasons, cooler nights. IR thermal pays for itself in heating savings.

Recommended: 150 µm · IR thermal · anti-fog

Arid

Intense sun and dust. Max UV loading and anti-dust keep light transmission up.

Recommended: 200 µm · max UV · anti-dust

Frequently asked

PO wins on clarity and lifespan (4–7 years) but costs more. PE (3–5 years) is the value default. Choose PO for high-value crops and long seasons; PE for standard seasonal production.

120 µm for low tunnels, 150 µm for standard temperate greenhouses, 180 µm for large/commercial structures in wind, and 200 µm for harsh sun or storm-prone regions such as East Africa.

A well-stabilized PE film lasts 3–5 years; PO lasts 4–7. Life depends on the UV package and climate — always ask for the UV rating, not just the micron number.

Without it, condensation forms drops that fall on plants and act as lenses that scorch leaves. Anti-drip makes water sheet down the wall, protecting crops and clarity.
